The narrow-gauge Children's Railway in the Buda hills, staffed by schoolchildren, runs decorated Mikulás trains on the weekend of St Nicholas' Day. Departures are from Hűvösvölgy, with crafts, face painting, hot drinks and a meeting with Mikulás at the station. Steam-hauled nostalgia trains run on selected winter weekends.
