Budapest Christmas Fair, Vörösmarty tér (Vörösmarty Classic Xmas)

Christmas fair on Vörösmarty tér at the northern end of Váci utca, with craft stalls, food courts, a stage and a mini train for children. The Vörösmarty statue stands inside a transparent dome that carries a light show, and a multimedia LED wall is installed on the square. The square's live Christmas tree and the surrounding trees are individually illuminated.

What to eat and drink here

Stalls sell mulled wine (forralt bor), punch, chimney cake (kürtőskalács), lángos, stuffed cabbage, sausages, stews and roasted chestnuts. 2025 prices: mulled wine about 1,500 HUF, punch about 1,560 HUF, plain lángos from about 2,400–2,500 HUF and loaded versions up to about 4,500 HUF, chimney cake 3,300–3,900 HUF, stuffed cabbage about 5,500 HUF, meat stews 6,800–8,500 HUF. All main kitchens were required to offer at least one dish at a fixed 1,600 HUF, and themed gastro weekends had dishes at 2,000–2,500 HUF.

Prices are what stalls typically charged in the 2025 season and are given as a guide only — the stalls set their own prices and they change every year.
